About the DS3800NGRD
The DS3800NGRD was developed by GE as an I/O Data Slave for the Mark IV series. This series, which was designed for the management of steam and gas turbine systems, is able to automate some processes to improve efficiency, including start-up and shut down. It may also be used for air, fuel and water emissions monitoring.
The DS3800NGRD is factory-drilled and alignment marked along its top edge. It has four right angle mating connectors, two on each short side. These are labeled 218A4637P6 (one left and one right,) and 218A4637P4 (one left and one right.) The connectors on the left side of the board are labeled DA and DB. Those on the right are labeled JA and JH. It is important to note the DS3800NGRD has one TP test point, but this is labeled as “TP30.” The test point is also labeled “VRR.”
The DS3800NGRD is built with multiple capacitors. Many of these are made of polyester film, including several 80V capacitors (.047 10% 80V M/e, .001 10% M/e 80V, and .0047 10% m/e 80V,) as well as one .33 +/-5% M/e 200V 708A1 capacitor. The board has many smaller capacitors located across the board.
The DS3800NGRD is built with both CCR (carbon composite) and ceramic-covered metal film resistors. These populate the majority of the board surface and are of differing values.
The DS3800NGRD has 31 integrated circuits, including low power quad operational amplifiers, quad 2-input exclusive-OR gates, hex schmitt-trigger inverters, and quad operational amplifiers.
GE provided all technical support from the DS3800NGRD, including publications like datasheets and manuals.
