About the DS3800NGRD1B1A
The DS3800NGRD1B1A was developed by General Electric as an I/O Data Slave card for the Mark IV (Speedtronic) system. This system was designed for gas or steam turbine management and is able to automate some procedures for increased efficiency, including start-up and cool down. The Mark IV can also be used to monitor fuel, water, or air emissions.
The DS3800NGRD1B1A is built with thirty-one integrated circuits. This includes Quad 2-input exclusive-OR gates, which contain four independent gates each which performs the logic exclusive-OR function. It also includes Hex Schmitt-trigger inverters, which have improved line-receiving characteristics and high noise immunity.
The DS3800NGRD1B1A is alignment marked on one edge, A through J. It is marked with the codes 6BA05 and NGRD 6DA02. The board has been drilled for mounting in all corners. It has one test point (TP,) but it is important to note this one test point is labeled both “VRR” and “TP30.”
The DS3800NGRD1B1A is built with many resistors, diodes, and capacitors. Resistors are both larger carbon composite wire wound (CCR,) and smaller ceramic-covered metal film. Capacitors range from small fixed vacuum capacitors to larger polyester film capacitors rated at 80V to 200V.
The DS3800NGRD1B1A can communicate with other PCBs via four right-angle mating connectors. These are located two to each short side. On both sides, there are two 218A48637 connectors, one P6 and one P4 per side. On the left, these are marked DA and DB. On the right, they are marked JA and JH.
Technical support for the DS3800NGRD1B1A (including written publications like manuals and datasheets) was provided by GE.
