About the DS3800NHVD1D1B
GE manufactured the DS3800NHVD1D1B as a high voltage card to fit within their Mark IV system. This system, which was created for gas or steam turbine management, is able to automate some procedures for more consistent management. This includes such processes as startup and shut down. The Mark IV is also capable of monitoring fuel, air, and water emissions.
The DS3800NHVD1D1B has oval cutouts milled from the top half of the board. The long dimension of each oval is parallel to the short end of the DS3800NHVD1D1B. The board has also been factory drilled 16 times in pairs of two and is alignment marked (A through L.)
The DS3800NHVD1D1B is built with three transformers (218A4499 P2 C1,) three red LEDs, two connector points, and four communication connectors. The communication connectors break down to one vertical (male) multi-pin connector and three 4-pin headers.
Since the DS3800NHVD1D1B is a high voltage card, carbon composite resistors have been preferred over ceramic metal film, although some of the latter still populate the board. The board has six CCR resistors banded with yellow/purple/black/gold. It also has six large black CGN-33 52 Ω 5% 20W Ni 1350W resistors. These are carbon composite wire wound resistors with axial terminals. These sit between six Sprague 196P 104910 paper in oil capacitors. The board also makes use of other, smaller capacitors, including Wesco 8110 100V capacitors. All components on the board are marked.
It is necessary to make note of the surface wiring in three places on the DS3800NHVD1D1B, which connects PTHs labeled for the wires connecting them: 1Wht, 2Wht, 3Wht, 1Blk, 2Blk, 3Blk.
