About the DS3800NMEA1J1G
The Mark IV Speedtronic turbine control system is one of the middle Speedtronic systems from General Electric. The system was designed to help manufacturers keep costs down while increasing reliability by using a modularized system that worked with a basic control panel. This design allowed the Mark IV to be used with industrial control systems of a number of different sizes and complexity levels. The Mark IV is a triple modular redundant system with three microprocessor controllers that vote on outputs; this allows any one of the controllers to go offline due to maintenance or other issues without resulting in downtime to the entire system.
The DS3800NMEA1J1E functions as a motor excitation board within Mark IV systems. This is one version of the NMEA board. AX Control has multiple versions available, so please be sure to order a board that exactly fits your needs. Motor excitation systems are used to keep the turbine spinning using DC current and closed-loop control.
The rectangular circuit board is factory drilled along the board’s edge to allow for mounting within the system. The board has several standoffs pre-mounted on its surface that will allow for the addition of auxiliary boards at some later date. Other board components include integrated circuits, diodes, TP test points, resistors, capacitors, variable resistors (potentiometers), and connectors like right-angled pin connectors and Augat connectors.
Original GE manuals and user guides will provide you with all the information you need for a proper and safe installation. Please familiarize yourself with these documents before unboxing your part. GE manuals also provide additional information that helps with handling and maintenance of the part.
