About the DS3800NMEC1C1B
The DS3800NMEC1C1B is a motor exciter control board from GE. It is a component of the Mark IV series, which manages gas/steam turbine systems. This triple-redundant microcomputer-based control system is able to limit downtime caused by electronics failure by using integrated design features.
The DS3800NMEC1C1B is a larger PCB that has many components attached to the board. This board has multiple nylon vertical pins inserted along its edge; these support other circuit boards and maintain space between the DS3800NMEC1C1B and the other boards. This PCB has six connectors for communicating with other boards, including two vertical male pin connectors (marked DA and DB) located toward the center of the board. Three right-angled male connectors are placed along the right edge. All three of these connectors are labeled 218A4637P2 and marked JE, JA, and JH. There is also one right angled 6-pin header, which is marked JP.
The DS3800NMEC1C1B has seventeen test points, one rotary potentiometer, ten transistors in the upper right corner, and two jumpers. One of these can be set at ‘in’ or ‘out.’ The other can be set to ‘J32’ or ‘J33.’
The DS3800NMEC1C1B has multiple circuits, including dual J-K negative-edge-triggered flip flops, quad 2-input NAND buffers, crystal oscillators, and operational amplifiers. The amplifiers operate with supply voltages of +/- 2V to +/- 20V and have sufficient supply rejection to use unregulated supplies.
Publications like datasheets and manuals for the DS3800NMEC1C1B were published by GE. All technical support for this product came from GE. While Mark IV products are no longer supported by the OEM, AX Control can help keep your older Speedtronic systems working through our sales and service programs.
