About the DS3800NMFA
The DS3800NMFA is a motor field regulator board manufactured by GE as part of their Mark IV (Speedtronic) line. The Mark IV was created for steam or gas turbine management. It improves efficiency by limiting downtime caused by electronics failure; it does this by using integrated chipsets that duplicate all important processes across multiple boards. The system can also automate some procedures (cooldown, start-up, shutdown) that also boosts efficiency.
The DS3800NMFA is designed to accept the optional auxiliary DS3800DMFA. When this board is attached it gives its motherboard access to ten potentiometers and multiple quick-connect screw mounts. The DS3800DMFA attaches to the DS3800NMFA using twenty board-to-board pin connectors located in the upper right quadrant. These hold the daughterboard in place.
The DS3800NMFA has the following specifications:
-
It has seven light emitting diodes (LEDs) located along the right edge of the board.
-
It has twelve test points (TPs) positioned along the right edge.
-
It has an extractor clip installed in each right corner.
-
It is built with ceramic metal film resistors of differing values. The board also has some CCR (carbon composite) resistors.
-
It has twelve transistors. This includes one RCA MNP8218 7711 button transistor.
-
It is built with polyester film and fixed vacuum capacitors. Included among the polyester film capacitors is one 708A1 5.0 +/- 10% M/e 100V, and several 708D1 80V capacitors.
-
It has one Augat connector (female, 28-pin.)
-
It has one 218A4553-1 Amp PCB mating connector.
-
It has nineteen integrated circuits.
All datasheets, manuals and technical support for the DS3800NMFA originally came from GE.
