About the DS3800NOAA
Greater Product Series Information
The DS3800NOAA is an operational amplifier board manufactured by GE for their Mark IV series. The Mark IV was developed for steam/gas turbine management and has improved efficiency due to limited downtime. Integrated printed circuit boards with intentional duplications on critical control and protection parameters keep the system running even when one board experiences an electronics issue. The system can also automate some procedures like startup and shutdown to improve efficiency.
Hardware Tips and Specifications
The DS3800NOAA is built with one amber LED which indicates the board is ok. This is not the only functionality-inducing hardware component of note that is visible in this DS3800NOAA Operational Amplifier Board device's normal Mark IV Series assembly, as it also:
- is marked on its top edge for alignment purposes.
- had two extractor clips installed. These are in the right corners of the board
- Extractor clips aid the technician in installing or extracting the board from tight locations by giving him a handle or a lever to use, thus avoiding damage to the circuitry by handling.
- is designed to accept an optional auxiliary board (DS3800DOAA.)
- attaches to the primary by way of two rows of board-to-board pins.
- The auxiliary is supported by four nylon pins that can be inserted into four pre-drilled holes in the DS3800NOAA.
- When the auxiliary board is installed, DS3800NOAA has access to the power of six additional trim potentiometers as well as multiple quick-connect screw mounts.
The DS3800NOAA has thirteen TP test points. It has one PCB mating connector (218A4553-Amp.) It is built with one transistor and six integrated circuits. Resistors are both ceramic-covered metal film and carbon composite. All technical publications for the DS3800NOAA, including datasheets and manuals, were provided to the end user by GE. This DS3800NOAA Operational Amplifier Board device here, as should have been revealed before, is the originally-developed product of its specific General Electric intended functional product role.
