The DS3800NPDA1B1B was made by GE (General Electric). The DS3800NPDA1B1B is one of many components in the Mark IV or MKIV turbine management system. Mark IV is one system in the Mark series of turbine management systems. The purpose of the Mark systems is to control and monitor gas and steam turbine operations. The Mark systems also protect the turbine system from damage caused by operating under dangerous conditions. The processes used by the Mark systems have worked on and improved for decades.

The DS3800NPDA1B1B is what is known as a daughter card or daughter board. Daughter boards are small cards that are designed to be attached to the surface of other circuit boards. Connecting a daughter board to a larger card gives the board more functions. Featured on the DS3800NPDA1B1B are eight (8) large brown resistors. The resistors are sitting up vertically on the DS3800NPDA1B1B. Each resistor is connected to the surface of the board with grey wires. Each brown resistor is striped in bands in a variety of colors. The bands featured on the resistors are black, grey, blue, orange, yellow, and gold in color. Two (2) yellow capacitors can also be seen on the DS3800NPDA1B1B. Of the two capacitors, one is larger and one is smaller. The capacitors are sitting up vertically on top of the DS3800NPDA1B1B. Silver wires attach these capacitors to the DS3800NPDA1B1B board. A series of jumper pins can be found on the DS3800NPDA1B1B. Eight (8) or more jumper pins are available for use on the DS3800NPDA1B1B.
