About the DS3800NPTA
The DS3800NPTA is a PCB manufactured by GE for the Mark IV gas/steam turbine management series. The Mark IV has multiple microcomputers that monitor the turbine constantly and protects the system from issues like fire, over-speed, loss of flame, and vibration. The MKIV is also able to automate some procedures, like speed control, control sequencing, startup, and shutdown.
The DS3800NPTA is built with a right-angled 10-pin male connector on one edge. It has a right-angled female connector populating the opposite edge. This connector is marked 218A4553-1 A/mp 533002-1. The board is marked with its identification number, the GE mark, and with the code 6BA02.
The DS3800NPTA is marked on its top edge with alignment triangles interspersed with the letters “A” through “J.” It is drilled in each corner. Extractor clips have been inserted in two corners.
The DS3800NPTA is built with three jumper switches, one resistor network, and twenty-four trim potentiometers. The latter two components may be used for voltage division. The board is built primarily using polyester vinyl capacitors, but capacitors of other material are on the board. It is worth noting that some of these polyester vinyl capacitors are not through-hole components, but rather are wired directly to the board.
The DS3800NPTA uses both carbon composite and ceramic-covered metal film resistors. It has seventeen circuits. All components are marked.
We will ship the DS3800NPTA to you in a static-reducing protective cover or sleeve. If paperwork from the original equipment manufacturer is still on hand (manuals, data sheets) it is recommended these are reviewed before beginning installation. All technical support for the DS3800NPTA was provided by GE.
