About the DS3800NSFC1J1
The DS3800NSFC1J1 is a PCB manufactured by GE for the Mark IV (Speedtronic) series. This series is designed for the management of gas and steam turbines and has been built with triple-redundant back-ups on all protection parameters and critical controls.
The DS3800NSFC1J1 acts a systems firing board within the Mark IV. It can accept the optional auxiliary DS3800DSFC, which is a very small daughterboard. When installed, this auxiliary adds the power of an additional potentiometer to the DS3800NSFC1J1. The auxiliary is supported by four nylon pins and attaches to the motherboard via two board-to-board metal connecting pins.
The DS3800NSFC1J1 is built with twelve test points and one light emitting diode (amber) that is labeled IMOK. The board has two mating connectors for communicating with other PCBs. This includes one right-angled male connector (218A4637-P4 9707) located on the right edge and one right-angled connector located on the left edge.
The DS3800NSFC1J1 is built with one jumper switch that can be placed in several positions. It has one row of spare PTH, nine transistors and five resistor network arrays. Network arrays are sometimes used for voltage division.
The DS3800NSFC1J1 has two extractor clips that have been inserted into the right corners. Extractors are helpful for insertion and extraction of the board, especially when space is limited. They give technicians both a handle and a lever point to pull the board out with and help protect components and circuitry.
The DS3800NSFC1J1 has twenty-eight integrated circuits, including hex inverters, oscillators, and octal d-type transparent latches.
All technical support was provided by GE for this component. Datasheets and manuals will reference DS3800NSFC1J1.
