About the DS3800NSWB1C1B
The DS3800NSWB1C1B is a printed circuit board (PCB) made by General Electric as part of their Speedtronic Mark IV series. The MKIV was made to manage gas/steam turbines. It is built with TMR (triple modular redundant) backups on the system’s critical controls and critical protection parameters. This arrangement limits downtime caused by component failures.
The DS3800NSWB1C1B is designed to accommodate an optional daughterboard. This extra auxiliary board communicates with the primary board through a ribbon cable connected to a vertical pin cable connector located near the board’s center. When the daughterboard is installed it offers the DS3800NSWB1C1B board access to additional components like jumpers and potentiometers. The daughterboard is also built with a line of pin connectors.
The DS3800NSWB1C1B has a backplane connector on its rear edge. On the opposite leading edge, the board has two nylon extractor clips mounted in factory drilled holes. These components work as a handle or a lever during installation or removal. Other board components include eleven LED indicators (ten red and one yellow), test points, integrated circuits, transistors, capacitors, resistors, resistor network arrays, and diodes. Most components are marked with either a letter-based reference designation or carry a symbol identifier.
More information about this board and about the Mark IV system is available through General Electric manuals and user guides. These original documents were provided with your OEM purchase. If you no longer have your original documentation, AX Control can help with replacements. Ask your sales representative about this option when calling or emailing with your order information.
