About the DS3800NTCD
The DS3800NTCD is a PCB from GE for the Mark IV series. This series was created by GE for the management of gas and steam turbines. It replaces the earlier MKI and MKII series and has several improvements, including two-out-of-three voting redundancies on most critical controls and protection parameters. The protection system in the MKIV takes care of such things as flame detection, over speed detection, over temperature protection, vibration protection, and combustion monitoring.
The DS3800NTCD is designed to function as a thermocouple card. It is built with eight integrated circuits on the board. The board includes two PCB mating connectors to communicate with other boards. This includes one 17-pin right angled male connector on the right side of the board and one 40-pin female mating connector on the left side of the board.
The DS3800NTCD has two TP test points. It is built with five jumper switches, four potentiometers, and one resistor network. Both potentiometers and resistor networks can be used as voltage dividers.
The DS3800NTCD is built with multiple capacitors. This includes thirty-two polyester vinyl capacitors rated for 200V and thirty-two 47k 10VDC capacitors. This board uses both carbon composite and ceramic-covered metal film resistors.
The DS3800NTCD has been drilled at the factory for mounting options and has been alignment marked on one edge. It has nylon extractor clips installed in each right-hand corner. Extractors give technicians a mechanical advantage by adding a lever point during extraction and may also be used as a handle during both insertion and extraction.
All technical support for this board was provided by General Electric. Datasheets and manuals will reference DS3800NTCD.
