About the DS3800NTSA
The DS3800NTSA is a PCB manufactured by GE for the Mark IV series. The MKIV is GE’s Speedtronic gas and steam turbine management system that replaced their Mark I and Mark II series, with improved control to take care of speed control, temperature control, startup, GT protection, control sequencing, power supply, and shutdown. The improved flexibility, enhanced operator interface, improved reliability, and decreased GT outage rate were some of the marked improvements of the MKIV system over previous systems.
The DS3800NTSA functions as a scanner board within the Mark IV series. It is alignment marked and factory-drilled at all corners. The board has two nylon extractor clips affixed to the right corners of the board with roll pins. These clips behave as both a handle and as a lever point, depending on whether the board is being installed or removed.
The DS3800NTSA has three PCB mating connectors. This includes two 218A4637-P2 right-angled male connectors on the right edge. There is also one A-mp 27791-1 7733 218A4683-00l connector on the opposite side of the board. There are two test points located near the first two connectors.
The DS3800NTSA is built with four potentiometers, one jumper, and twelve transistors. It is built with both carbon composite and metal film resistors. Capacitors may be ceramic, polyester film or made of other material. The board has nine integrated circuits.
The most prominent component on the DS3800NTSA is its twelve CP Clare mercury wetted contact relays (HGS2x 5040 218A4826 1.) The relays are placed in two parallel lines of six. A board stiffener crosses between the second and third relay of each row.
All technical support for the DS3800NTSA, including manuals and data sheets, was provided by GE.
