About the DS3800NVBC
The DS3800NVBC circuit board is part of General Electric’s Mark IV turbine control system. The Mark IV was one of the company’s Speedtronic systems designed for the management and control of industrial gas and steam turbine systems. With its modular design and simple central control panel, the Mark IV allowed manufacturers to create a control system that met their needs without spending a lot of money or time.
Like many other circuit boards in this line, the DS3800NVBC board has a large backplane connector located on its rear edge. On the opposite front board edge, the board is populated with two extractor clips and a smaller right-angled connector that will allow the board to be connected via a ribbon connector. This connector is labeled 218A4637P3.
Other board components include two high-powered transistors encircled by heat sinks, a single smaller transistor, multiple integrated circuits, along with capacitors, resistors, and diodes. The board carries the GE logo to ensure authenticity and is marked with its identification code along with other codes to help with installation. Most components carry their original maker marks and have a reference designation nearby on the board surface. Components are through-hole (TH) mounted.
