Product Description

The DS3800NVCD1B1B functions as a Conditioning board.  It is a product from General Electric’s Mark IV Speedtronic turbine control line.  GE Speedtronic systems have been used in different iterations to offer control for industrial steam and gas turbines since the late 1960s.  However, the Mark IV was the first of these systems to offer a microprocessor-controlled control system designed with three independent controllers.  This kind of architecture allowed the Mark IV to significantly increase reliability over previous systems while decreasing overall downtime.   Both the system and this board have been discontinued by the OEM and are no longer supported by General Electric.  However, AX Control maintains on-hand stock of many Mark IV components to serve our customers’ needs. 

The DS3800NVCD1B1B is a rectangular board that does not include any sort of attached front faceplate.  It does, however, have two extractor clips mounted to the front corners of the board.  Extractors will help users with both insertion and removal by offering a better place to hold the board.   They also offer a lever point.   The board is marked with its identification number, with several codes that should help with placement and wiring, and with the GE logo to ensure authenticity. 

The DS3800NVCD1B1B board has two connectors on its surface.  This includes a right-angled ribbon connector and a backplane.  It also has multiple integrated circuits and resistors, as well as capacitors and diodes.  The board has a single small transistor and two larger transistors.  These are mounted in heat sinks.  The board has no user-configurable hardware.  Use GE manuals and user guides for more information.
