About the DS3800NVRC
The DS3800NVRC circuit board from GE is a Mark 4 SVR controller board. This board is an auxiliary/daughterboard designed to be mounted on the surface of a larger circuit board rather than interface into a rack system directly. To that end, the board does not have any sort of backplane connector. The Mark IV system was the first of the Speedtronic systems for gas and steam turbine system control that offered both microprocessor control and the ability to have more than one controller vote on the final system output. This was called TMR architecture.
The DS3800NVRC is a long and narrow board. It is populated by a right-angled connector with a ribbon connector connected to it as well as a vertical connector mounted to the center of the board. The board is drilled and notched along its edges and within the board’s body to allow for mounting and to give through-points for wiring.
One side of the DS3800NVRC has six variable resistors mounted to it. These are labeled zero to 100. This side of the board also has a line of TP test points, spare PTH, and five jumper pins. Make sure to note and duplicate the jumper settings of the board you are removing. Other board components include transistors, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits and diodes. Components are marked with reference designators to help with identification.
