About the DS3800XAIA
General Electric (GE) created the DS3800XAIA for the Mark IV (MKIV) series. The DS3800XAIA is a printed circuit board (PCB). The Mark IV is a system in the Mark series which is used for the control of gas and steam turbines. The Mark IV maintains the operations of the turbine. The system regulates temperatures and protects the turbine from any damage which may occur due to conditions which are unsafe.
The DS3800XAIA features a number of different components in various sizes. Eleven (11) large components take up nearly half of the DS3800XAIA. Seven (7) of these large components are encased in black plastic. The other four (4) components are made of metal and are grey in color. On the opposite side of the DS3800XAIA there are eleven (11) small connector ports. These connector ports are black in color. Each connector port includes twenty (20) male connector pins. Using these ports, an operator may connect extra components to the DS3800XAIA circuit board. Two (2) more connector ports can be found on the adjacent edge of the board. One of these ports is the same size are the others and the other port is about half the size as the others. Nineteen (19) jumper pins can be found on the same edge next to the two (2) connector ports. These pins are gold in color and they are mounted on top of white plastic. The DS3800XAIA also has one jumper. This jumper in red in color. The jumper can be used to connect adjacent pins. Doing this would adjust the settings of the DS3800XAIA.
