The DS3800XBFA circuit board from General Electric is a Mark IV turbine component.  This board functions as a card bridge, or fan out card.   The MKIV turbine system uses three computers, or controllers, that are typically called <R>, <S>, and <T>.  These computer controllers each use the same hardware and software and perform the same functions for the turbine system.  If one of the controllers has a malfunction, the other two controllers continue operations without any drop in reliability. 

The DS3800XBFA card bridge card functions in a similar way to a power strip, as it offers expansion slots that offer the ability to add new devices to the overall system.   This rectangular board is relatively small, weighing only 0.06 pounds.   The board is factory drilled at each corner and carries the General Electric logo and the board identification, as well as a line of letters and markings to help with installation.  There are also several codes on the board’s surface; read through associated manuals and user guides for more information on these. 

Components on the DS3800XBFA are sparse and primarily located around the board’s edges.  Components include a line of three capacitors and a line of four capacitors, two resistors placed on opposite sides of the board, a horizontal pin connector, and thirteen right-angled pin connectors facing toward the board edges.
