About the DS3800XCIA

The DS3800XCIA board is part of the General Electric Mark IV turbine control system.  This system has been used for the management and control of industrial gas and steam turbine systems for many decades and is one of many Speedtronic systems available from GE.   The Mark IV was built using multiple microprocessor-based controllers, which increased the system’s reliability.   While the DS3800XCIA board has been discontinued by the original equipment manufacturer it remains available for purchase within AX Control’s vast stock of after-market General Electric replacement parts. 

The DS3800XCIA board is sparsely populated.  Components are limited to two double-ported jacks located on one short board edge, close to a single jumper cap.   The opposite board edge is taken up by a single silver rail running parallel to two lines of vertical pins.  These are parallel to the board edge.  The last components on the board are three terminal bars running parallel to the long board edges.  These have multiple screw ports available for wiring connections to. 

The board itself is heavily drilled along its top and bottom edges.  Factory drill holes are typically used for mounting the board.   The board is marked with several codes and identifying marks.  More information about these can be found through associated documentation like GE manuals and product guides.  Make sure you understand all handling procedures before you unbox your part and begin any installation.   Handling, maintenance, or installation of this equipment before reading and understanding the associated documented hazards is not advised.
