About the DS3800XCIB
The DS3800XCIB from General Electric is a communication circuit board designed for use within the Mark IV Speedtronic system. The MKIV system is an electro-hydraulic control system with microprocessor integration. These microprocessors allow for digital control via turbine sensor input signals. The MKIV offers built-in redundancy (triple modular redundancy) that allows the turbine to continue operating safely even with two of the three controllers. This allows one controller to be pulled offline for servicing without any impact on the overall system.
The DS3800XCIB functions as a Communication card. This board is sparsely populated with mounted components, but it is factory drilled many times along the top and bottom edge. The board is also factory drilled at its very center. The board has two jacks located along its right edge and a terminal strip located along both the top and bottom edge. In between these terminal strips, there is a third terminal strip that has a cover mounted to it. The last component on the board is a metal bar along the left edge. This bar is flanked by two lines of pins labeled A and B and individually numbered.
The DS3800XCIB board carries several codes like 6BA02 and 6DA01. One edge has reference letters and points for alignment during installation.
