About the DS3800XPTN
A gas or steam turbine uses a large internal combustion engine to mix fuel and air to cause a contained explosion. This explosion creates a series of gases that are under a lot of pressure and force their way out of the engine causing the turbine to move at high speed generating a great deal of energy. The energy created by the moving turbine is then harnessed and used for a multitude of other purposes.
The DS3800XPTN is part of the Mark IV Speedtronic series from General Electric. The DS3800XPTN is a small daughter board with twenty red diodes, six dark blue diodes. A diode controls which way the energy flows. The DS3800XPTN has a couple sets of Jumper Ports with a cover to prongs that allow the worker to decide where the energy flows. The DS3800XPTN has six screw points to attach the circuit board to other larger circuit boards around it. Each section of the DS3800XPTN is labeled with a number and letter. Each piece on the DS3800XPTN is also outlined with a thin white line to indicate where each component goes. The part number (DS3800XPTN) is printed on the circuit board along with the General Electric logo and where the circuit board was manufactured (U. S. A.).
