About the DS3815PAAA
The DS3815PAAA is a PCB manufactured by GE for the Mark IV series. Created for gas and steam turbine management, the MKIV protects the turbine from loss of flame, fire, high pressure, over speed and over temperature. It is designed with three microprocessor-based systems that run simultaneously to ensure the turbine runs at maximum efficiency.
The DS3815PAAA is created to accept an optional auxiliary board (DS3815PABA.) The two boards communicate via a vertical male connector located near the top edge of the DS3815PAAA. The board has two other PCB mating connectors, located on the left and right edges. The first of these is a 218A4553-1 A/mp 533002-1 connector. The other is a 218A4637P1 connector.
The DS3815PAAA is built with three light emitting diodes. This includes one amber and two red LEDs. The board has seven test points. These are labeled DATA/SYNC/DSYNC/COM/RST/COM/TEST. The board is also populated with fourteen jumper switches, which are clustered in three locations on the board. J1-J5 are located along the top edge. J6 sits alone near the bottom right corner. This can be set to IN or to OUT. J7-J14 run along the bottom edge and can be set to zero or to one.
The DS3815PAAA is built with twenty-five circuits. This includes 8-bit HMOS microprocessors, octal buffers, hex inverters, quad-d flip-flops, and 2048-bit static HMOS RAM with I/O ports.
All technical support for the DS3815PAAA was provided originally by General Electric. This includes reference publications for the end user like manuals and datasheets.
