About the DS3820ATAD
The DS3820ATAD is a GE board component used within the Speedtronic Mark IV system. This was one of the first of General Electric’s Speedtronic systems to offer triple modular redundant (TMR) control, that offered more than one backup on all critical controls and protection parameters. This type of control system reduced downtime caused by an equipment failure by a significant amount. The DS3820ATAD and other GE Mark IV boards are available from AX Control as liquidated surplus boards or as thoroughly tested and reconditioned units that have been examined by our technicians.
The DS3820ATAD is designed as a circuit board mounted to a metal carrier. The metal carrier has three edges folded downward as supporting edges, and a fourth edge that folds upward and holds a line of screw connections. The metal carrier is drilled through its surface in several places to allow for mounting options. The board is mounted to this carrier using six screw mounts.
The board component portion of the DS3820ATAD has two terminal strips located parallel to each other on opposite short sides of the board. Between these, located on the upper edge of the board, there are three vertical pin (male) cable connectors in a triangular pattern. The board’s surface is printed with a grid pattern and marked with the code 6BA01. One edge is marked to allow for proper alignment.
