About the DS3820CI2A
DS3820CI2A GE Current Isolator Board
The DS3820CI2A is a Mark IV module from GE. This is designed for use within gas and steam turbine systems that run under Speedtronic Mark IV TMR (triple modular redundant) control. The Mark IV was the first TMR system from General Electric. MKIV boards and other components are available from AX Control as reconditioned used and liquidated new never-used stock. Our technicians can also repair your current part.
The DS3820C12A is a Current Isolator Module. This type of module is used to provide isolation between the line voltage side and the control side of a unit. The Current Isolator Module includes an external metal box and an internal circuit board that holds all working components. The circuit board is a DS3800NCIB board. It is populated by several integrated circuits, including an isolation amplifier (S1270) that is secondarily supported by a tie-connection to the board’s surface. It also has a terminal strip with three screw mounts, a quick-connect mount for a power component, a ribbon connector, two male pin connectors (both vertical,) and a stab-on connector used as a ground. The board also has transistors, potentiometers, resistors, capacitors, and diodes. It is screw mounted to the rear surface of the external box.
The external portion of the DS3820C12A is a metal box with a hinged front panel. This panel has an opening in its bottom panel to allow an exit for board cabling. It has several warnings located on its front surface, including a high-voltage warning. Please be sure to read and follow all safety and handling procedures before beginning any maintenance or installation work on this module. Data sheets, manuals, and user guides will provide additional details.
