About the DS3820FDCA
The DS3820FDCA is a field discharge module from General Electric for their Mark IV Speedtronic line. The DS3820FDCA is a small silver metal box. The box has several pre-drilled holes to secure the DS3820FDCA in place. The DS3820FDCA has a hinged door that secures into place to protect the circuit board inside. Inside the DS3820FDCA there is a small circuit board with three large dark brown resistors and two small light blue resistors. The resistors have small colored band like markings that represent how much energy each resistor can withstand. The DS3820FDCA has one large silver capacitor and one long dark capacitor. Capacitors are used to store extra energy in an electrical field for later use. The DS3820FDCA has three tiny yellow bead like diodes. The diodes only allow energy to flow in one direction. There is a circular metal sphere with a screw and nut attaching it to a metal bracket. The circular sphere has three grey wires coming out of it going into the circuit board. Each piece of the DS3820FDCA is labeled with a corresponding letter and number. The General Electric logo and part number (DS3820FDCA) is printed on the circuit board. Where the circuit board was manufactured (U. S. A.) is also printed on the circuit board below the General Electric logo.
