About the DS3820LIMB
DS3820LIMB Linksol Controller Module Data
The DS3820LIMB is a Controller Module/Data (Linklsol) from General Electric. This circuit board was designed for use in the Speedtronic Mark IV system. The Mark IV was the first of the Speedtronic systems to offer triple modular redundant (TMR) control that significantly reduced the amount of downtime caused by hardware failure. The DS3820LIMB is no longer manufactured by GE but is available from AX Control as both a refurbished and tested used part and as a never-used liquidated surplus part.
The DS3820LIMB is part of the data transmission system of the Mark IV. This is a small rectangular board built on to DIN rails. The unit has a twelve-position terminal strip placed along one long edge. Each screw mount is individually labeled. This side of the board also has a phone jack, a round ceramic capacitor, a TP test point, diodes, and resistors. There are three terminal pin connectors with surface wired connectors leading back to the phone jack. The center of the board is populated by a large vertical carrier with a vertically mounted circuit board within its interior. This board is populated by polyester vinyl capacitors, inductor coils, resistors, and a transistor. The edges of the board fit into ridges located in the sides of the carrier. The far side of the base board is populated by additional resistors, two electrolytic capacitors, a vertical pin header connector, and a vertical pin (male) cable connector.
