About the DS3820LT4A1A1A
DS3820LT4A1A1A Drive Protection Module
The DS3820LT4A1A1A is a module component used within the Mark IV Speedtronic system. The Mark IV was the first of these gas and steam turbine control systems from General Electric to offer TMR architecture with more than one backup on all critical controls and protection parameters. This type of fault-tolerant control significantly increased the reliability of the Mark IV over its predecessor, the MKII. While MKIV components are no longer manufactured by General Electric, they can be purchased from AX Control as liquidated new-used surplus or as reconditioned, fully tested used products.
The DS3820LT4A1A1A functions as a drive protection module. It is a LodTrak IV controller module that is capable of integrating current sensing and temperature control to provide excellent motor protection. The unit is designed to allow user flexibility through its internal microprocessing unit. There is also a relay attached that allows for field setting of the trip temperature for RTDs and overcurrent units. The rear of the unit is designed with two terminal strips that allow for alarm and trip outputs, power, and grounding lines.
The front panel of the DS3820LT4A1A1A has a small LED display window, two LED indicators that are labeled TRIP and IMOK, and five individual input buttons. These are labeled select, reset, dec, inc, and scan/enter.
