The DS3820LT4E1D1A is an HMI or human-machine interface. A human-machine interface allows the workers to interact and control the machinery. The DS3820LT4E1D1A is used to control gas and steam turbines. A gas or steam turbine uses a large internal combustion engine to mix fuel and air to cause a contained explosion. This explosion creates a series of gases that are under a lot of pressure and force their way out of the engine causing the turbine to move at high speed generating a great deal of energy. The energy created by the moving turbine is then harnessed and used for a multitude of other purposes. The DS3820LT4E1D1A has an LED screen where messages show up. There are five blue squares buttons. The top left button reads DEC, the top right button reads INC, the bottom left button reads SCAN / ENTER, the bottom right button reads RESET, the fifth button at the bottom that is centered in the middle of the rest of the buttons is labeled SELECT. Along the bottom of the DS3820LT4E1D1A it reads General Electric logo on the left and on the right, it reads LodTrak IV. The DS3820LT4E1D1A has a few wires to attach the DS3820LT4E1D1A into place.
