About the DS3820PSFC
DS3820PSFC General Electric MKIV Power Supply
The DS3820PSFC is a module component created to be used within the Mark IV series. Built from interconnected microprocessors, the Mark IV was the first of GE’s Speedtronic systems for gas and steam turbine management to offer TMR (triple modular redundant) control. The system is designed to monitor processes like loss of flame, overtemperature, and high pressure with multiple controls deciding how to proceed. Startup, control sequencing, and shutdown are all automatic procedures. The DS3820PSFC and other Mark IV components are no longer actively manufactured by GE but can be purchased from AX Control as either reconditioned used or new never-used surplus stock.
The DS3820PSFC is a Power Supply Module. It takes incoming AC (alternating current) power and converts it to necessary DC (direct current.) It also offers output conditioning to assure the dc current has limited noise and spikes. The DS3820PSFC is built within a large metal exterior housing with multiple openings and grills to allow for heat ventilation. The unit has externally mounted circuit boards, including a board with eight female plug connectors. This board connects to internal components via surface wired plugs. The interior of the unit has board components and individually mounted components within three chambers Each board is marked with its own board number for easy identification. Boards typically use screw mounts to connect them to the interior surfaces of the metal housing.
Please follow all safety and handling procedures as noted within technical support publications like user guides and product manuals from General Electric. AX Control will ship this module carefully boxed and secondarily protected by a static-reducing protective sleeve.
