About the DS3820PSFC1B
DS3820PSFC1B General Electric MKIV Power Supply
The DS3820PSFC1B is a GE Mark IV Power Supply. The Mark IV system was the third of General Electric’s Speedtronic line and the first in the series to offer double backups (TMR/triple modular redundant) on all critical protection parameters and controls. The MKIV can easily automate important processes like startup and shutdown, and continuously monitors the turbine for issues like loss of flame, high pressure, over temperature, and fire. The DS3820PSFC1B is no longer manufactured by GE but can be purchased from AX Control as a reconditioned unit or as a liquidated never-used new module.
The DS3820PSFC1B functions as a power supply module. The module is housed within a tall metal housing with bottom flanges that stabilize it and allow it to be secured in place. Multiple sides have been left partially open to give access to interior parts and to allow those internal parts proper ventilation in order to maintain a good working temperature. Each of the circuit board components used within the module is marked with their individual numbers. This includes the exterior-mounted board located high on one solid side that is populated with eight female plugs. This board allows other module boards and components to easily communicate with each other. Surface wiring is also used board-to-board by internal components. Some internal components are individually mounted to the inside walls of the housing.
