About the DS3820PSSB
The DS3820PSSB is a power supply module designed as a component for GE’s Mark IV series. The MKIV was the third commercially released version of the Speedtronic gas/steam turbine management system and is built on interconnected microprocessors that independently monitor the turbine for issues like fire, loss of flame, vibration, high pressure, and over temperature. The MKIV can also automate processes like control sequencing, startup, and shut down.
The DS3820PSSB is a modification of two DS3800 boards. The modifications include the addition of a DIN rail, which is placed below the larger of the two boards. This DIN rail has top hat flanges with drill outs for screw mountings. The other modification is the marrying of multiple boards together to form this one product.
The lower board in the DS3820PSSB is built with multiple large silver through-hole capacitors. It has two sets of spare PTH, two inductors, and one 12-pin female Augat connector. It also has one multi-pin male header. These are only some of the components located on this board.
The upper board in the DS3820PSSB is built with six fuses, seven quick-connect screw mounts, one thermistor, one four-pin header connector, and several polyester vinyl capacitors. It also has both CCR (carbon composite) and metal film resistors.
AX Control will ship the DS3820PSSB in a static reducing, protective plastic covering. All technical support for this product was provided by GE. This includes data sheets and manuals, which can be an excellent resource for information on wiring and installation.
