About the DS3860HMPJ
DS3860HMPJ Microprocessor Board Mark IV
The DS3860HMPJ is a printed circuit board from General Electric fabricated for use within the Speedtronic Mark IV series. This was created for the management of gas/steam turbine systems, and has integrated microprocessors with two-out-of-three voting redundancy on all critical controls and protection parameters. This TMR architecture significantly reduces downtime caused by hardware failure. The MKIV automates certain procedures like startup and shutdown. The DS3860HMPJ microprocessor board is no longer manufactured by GE but can be purchased from AX Control as a reconditioned, fully tested unit.
The DS3860HMPJ is a rectangular board with a backplane connector located on one short edge. The board is fitted with four standoffs mounted on the right side of the board. These pieces of hardware allow an optional daughterboard to easily be added to the circuit board if needed. This daughterboard plugs into a vertical pin cable connector located along the center line of the board. Another connector is also located on the right edge of the board. This is a right-angled male cable connector.
Other board components located on the DS3860HMPJ include two LED indicators, one red and one amber, diodes, resistors (typically made of metal film,) capacitors that are made from polyester vinyl and electrolytic material, jumper switches, resistor network arrays, and over fifty integrated circuits. These circuits vary from oscillating chips, to EPROMs, to EEPROMs.
The DS3860HMPJ is marked with codes like 6BA03 and C-ESS. Extractor clips have been mounted in two corners. For additional information about the board, consult technical support products like data sheets, user guides, and manuals.
