About the DS3860HSAA
DS3860HSAA GE Mark IV Circuit Board
The DS3860HSAA is a board component intended for use within the Speedtronic Mark IV system. This system was the first of the Speedtronic line to offer a triple redundant configuration with three identical control sections carrying out diagnostics. This modular redundant system significantly increased the reliability of the MKIV as compared to the MKI and MKII. The DS3860HSAA board can be purchased from AX Control as a reconditioned, fully tested unit. It is no longer manufactured by General Electric.
The DS3860HSAA is marked on two edges with numbers and/or lettering to help with alignment. The board is drilled in several places, with the leading edge of the board including two extractor clips added to these drill holes. Extractors are used to pull the board from its location within a rack or frame. They are also used as handles by technicians when the board is being re-inserted into a frame, in order to protect more delicate components on the board’s surface.
The DS3860HSAA is heavily populated by components. This includes a backplane connector and a right-angled cable connector, jumper switches, potentiometers, TP test points, and transistors. Transistors include a large bipolar transistor mounted in a heat sink as well as smaller components. The board has a single relay component, multiple resistor network arrays, metal film and carbon composite resistors, diodes, and capacitors made from materials like polyester vinyl and ceramic. There are over fifteen integrated circuits on the board’s surface, including oscillating chips. Use GE technical support publications like manuals and user guides for more information.
