About the DS200SHVIG1BHD
General Electric developed the DS200SHVIG1BHD as a SCR high voltage interface card for the Mark V board series. As a member of this optional and replacement card series, this board offers almost universal use across GE’s brand of drives and exciters. An interfacing medium between the power connect card, or PCCA, the instrumentation card, and the power supply board is provided with this board. Specifically, communications between the SCR bridge of the drive and the power supply are directed using this card.
DS200SHVIG1BHD works by receiving voltage signals and relaying them to the appropriate power or operation card. The board first receives voltage signals ranging as low as -500 mV and as high as 500 mV. All inputted signals are then converted with this board into differential frequencies ranging anywhere from 0 kHz all the way up to 500 kHz. Conversions are then sent from the interface board to the drive’s integrated power supply card. Attenuation capabilities of the drive are all built into the seventeen jumpers found on board. Each of the jumpers includes a 10:1 current transformer. Onboard diagnostics include three LED indicator lights that will alert users should any of the filter fuses found on the card blow out.
Any manufacturer provided installation parameters should be met by the user. Following all parameters will protect the integrity of the DS200SHVIG1BHD as well as its installed drive. Board integrity is also dependent upon users properly wiring the unit. The device’s manual as well as its datasheet houses a complete guide to installing this high voltage interface board. All members of the Mark V series were originally provided with technical support by their manufacturer, General Electric.
