The GE Unit Controller 2000/VME Board DS215UCVAG1AD occurpies several slots in a VME rack and it enables the operator to control the drive. Using the Ethernet connector, the board can be attached to an Ethernet local area network (LAN). If the Ethernet cable is close to power cables it might pick up interference which would corrupt the Ethernet communications.
The 2 blocks of switches on the board each contains 9 switches for a total of 18 switches. The switches enable the installer or operator to configure the board to process information as required by the site. The printed material that is supplied by the factory provides the information you need to set the switches for the best results. When you receive the board, the switches are in the default settings. The default settings are the common settings used by most applications. Use your fingers or other object to move the switches to the positions you require for the site.
The front panel of the board is populated with a reset switch. This useful if the board is experiencing intermittent problems or is experiencing unexplained processing errors. The reset switch restarts the board without powering down the board. It enables the board to reload firmware and other instruction code and it is a first troubleshooting step.
