Product Description

The IS200VSCAH2A is a board component made by GE for the Mark VI system. The MKVI was released by General Electric under the Speedtronic name, which is a long-running gas and steam turbine management program.  The Mark VI is an advanced turbine control system that uses Ethernet communications and that has a connected Operator Interface made from a PC running on a Windows platform.

The IS200VSCAH2A functions as a Serial Communication Input Output board.  This component provides I/O interfaces for independent devices that can use RS-422, RS-485, or RS-232C serial communication.  The board uses a (DSCB) terminal board to connect through the front panel connectors to these independent devices. RS-232C serial connections have a maximum cable length of 50 feet.  Other connections may be cabled up to 1000 feet.

The IS200VSCAH2A has a front faceplate.  This is a single slot board that includes multiple components like three LED components.  These are labeled Run, Fail, and Status. The status light will only power when a diagnostic alarm condition is present. 

The IS200VSCAH2A is built with nineteen jumper switches.  This includes three-position jumpers for selecting electrical characteristics of ports(JP1-JP6,)  for the configuration of transmission lines (JP7-JP12,) or for the selection of termination configuration for the receive lines (JP13-JP18.)  The board also has one two-position jumper switch (JPU1) that is used to select between Modbus operation and Honeywell pressure transducer.

The IS200VSCAH2A is built with over forty integrated circuits.  This includes oscillating chips, universal asynchronous receiver transmitters, and an FPGA (field programmable gate arrays.)  The board has capacitors, resistors, and transformers.
