About the IS200VSCAH2AAA
The IS200VSCAH2AAA is a component designed by GE for the Mark VI system. The Mark VI was released by GE as one of the last gas and steam turbine management systems under the Speedtronic series name. The Speedtronic series began with the release of the Mark I system in the 1960s. The Mark VI is an advanced turbine management system that includes Ethernet communications, triple redundant backups on all critical controls, and an Operator Interface made using a Windows PC.
The IS200VSCAH2AAA is used to provide I/O interfaces to external devices. The board uses a DSCB terminal board connected through its J6 or J7 front panel connectors to communicate with these external devices. These connections can be made at baud rates to 375 kbps, at distances up to a thousand feet (RS-422 and RS-485,) or for distances of fifty feet (RS-232C.) If longer distances must be bridged, a short haul modem may be used.
The IS200VSCAH2AAA includes a narrow (single slot) front faceplate. The board has three LED components that are marked ‘Fail,’ ‘Run,’ and ‘Status.’ The faceplate also includes two cable connectors (J6 and J7.)
The board has backplane connectors on the rear edge. It includes several other board connectors, which are primarily vertical pin connectors. The board is populated by multiple resistors and capacitors, as well as over 40 integrated circuits, including FPGAs and oscillating chips. The board has nineteen jumper switches, including eighteen three-position switches that are used for a variety of configuration uses. The two-position jumper selects between two external components. The board is marked with several codes, including 6BA01.
