Frequently Asked Questions about IS200VTURH1BAC

What is the IS200VTURH1BAC? What is it used for?

The IS200VTURH1BAC model is a Turbine Specific Primary Trip board. It is used for controlling three primary overspeed trip relays on one of the TRPx terminal boards. The controller will generate the trip signals and send them to the VTUR module and then to the TRPx for tripping of the emergency solenoids. The trip signals on the Mark VI system can either be tripped by this model or the VPRO board.

The IS200VTURH1BAC board can be used in simplex or triple modular redundant (TMR) systems; how many relays are used in each system?

When the VTUR board is used in a simplex system, the board will use nine relays, and a TMR system will use three relays.

About the IS200VTURH1BAC

One of the features of the IS200VTURH1BAC is that it can be used in triple modular redundant or simplex applications. When the VTUR board is used in a simplex application, up to four pulse rate signals will measure the turbine speed. The bus and generator voltages on this board will be brought on for automatic synchronization used in concurrence with the turbine controller and excitation system. The IS200VTURH1BAC model will be used with the TTUR for permissive generator synchronization relays and control of the main breakers relay coil 52 G. A shaft voltage on the VTUR board will be picked up with brushes and monitored with the current to the machine's case.

All of the above information regarding the IS200VTURH1BAC model can be found in the GEH-6421 Volume II Mark VI Turbine Control System Guide.
