About the IS2020ISUCG1A
The IS2020ISUCG1A is a GE Mark VI Control Module. Mark VI is the third generation of gas and steam turbine management systems from General Electric that runs with TMR (Triple Module Redundant) architecture, meaning that it has three separate and complete Control Modules, power supplies, and IONets. The IS2020ISUCG1A is designed to be one of those three independent modules.
The IS2020ISUCG1A is built with termination boards and I/O cards that contain a TMS320C32 DSP processor that will digitally filter data before converting it to 32 bit IEEE-854 floating point format. The Control Module contains an internal communications card, a main processor card, and may be fitted with an optional flash disk card. The main processor card takes up two slots and the others take up one. The main processor card will execute the bulk of application software at 10/20/40 ms depending on application requirements.
The IS2020ISUCG1A communicates data with other modules in the Mark VI control system using IONet. The VCMI card in the Control Module acts as the bus master. This communicates on an Ethernet 10Base2 network to slave stations.
It is important to note that while the IS2020ISUCG1A is used for control, monitoring, and protection functions, some applications will require backup protection. An example is emergency overspeed protection. This is always provided for turbines without a mechanical overspeed bolt, and in this application, the IONet is extended to a Backup Protection Module available in simplex or triple redundant forms.
AX Control will carefully pack and protect the IS2020ISUCG1A with a static-reducing sleeve during shipment. Please refer to any retained manuals or data sheets from GE for safety data and installation instructions.
