About the IS205DSRGG1A
The IS205DSRGG1A is a Mark VI board component from General Electric. The Mark VI was one of the final and most complex systems in the series.
The IS205DSRGG1A functions as a MOSORB surge suppressor. Such devices are used to protect voltage-sensitive components from high-energy transients and high voltage. The unit has high surge capability, superior clamping capability, and a low Zener impedance.
The IS205DSRGG1A is not RoHS compliant. The unit is designed to solder to a larger PCB (see description below). This board is designed with lead-through components.
The IS205DSRGG1A component includes multiple right angled pins extending out from one long board edge. These are connected to both the top and bottom surfaces of the board. The pins act as solder points. The top of the board is populated primarily with two lines of diodes. These are positioned in two parallel lines of eight diodes. This surface is also marked with the board ID number, reference designators, and wiring codes.
It should be noted the IS205DSRGG1A board is quite small; the board is only a few inches long and wide. While it is populated by components on both board surfaces, there are only a few components overall.
