About the IS205SVMAG2A
The IS205SVMAG2A is a small auxiliary board component created for the Mark VI system. One of the last Speedtronic systems for managing gas and steam turbines, the Mark VI is designed with a Central Control Module. It can be built as either a simplex or a triple redundant system. The Mark VI uses UDH (unit data highway) Ethernet-based LAN for peer-to-peer communication between MKVI controls, static starters, EX2000 Generator Excitation controls, HMIs, and historians.
The IS205SVMAG2A functions as a Voltage Monitor auxiliary card. This is typically installed on the VTUR input/output terminal module and is responsible for the monitoring of current and shaft voltage. This is to keep discharge and arcing from causing pitting on bearing surfaces that will cause failure through accelerated mechanical wear.
The IS205SVMAG2A has ten small pins extending from one short edge. These pins (P1) function as a board connector. The board is soldered in place to its location on the motherboard. Other components on the board surface include twelve resistors and a resistor network array. The board has five capacitors and three diodes. There are a single integrated circuit and one transistor. Components are marked with their manufacturer part number and the board surface is marked with reference designators. The board also carries codes like 94V-0, FA-00, and ttm4-10. The board is factory drilled in two corners.
