The IS215UCVGM09A is a DLAN+ (Drive Local Area Network Plus) Card manufactured by GE for the Mark VI system.  The design of this card allows for insertion into the 5 Vdc interface on the “G” version of Innovation controllers as well as the 3.3 Vdc interface on the “H” version of the same controllers.   Usually, this card will be installed near the bottom of the controller’s faceplate.

The IS215UCVGM09A is a two-sided board.  The front faceplate fits snugly into the opening in the motherboard.  This smaller faceplate is built with an ARCNET connector and a single multi-pin (male) connector.   The smaller faceplate connects via two screw connections. The board is supported by standoffs installed in the surface of the motherboard, connected with screw connections.  The board is designed to improve buffering capability in order to improve data rate and to improve controller idle time. Noise rejection and a higher receiver sensitivity also improve data quality.  It is worth noting the IS215UCVGM09A is electrically and physically interchangeable with previous DLAN+ modules.

The IS215UCVGM09A is populated with several integrated circuits.  The board has three varistor components, two small and one large.  It has multiple connectors on one side of the board created from conductive dots, as well as several vertical pin components.   Internal setup of the board will occur when power is first applied to the card.
