About the IS420UCPAH1A
The Mark VIe IS420UCPAH1A device is a Controller Platform that has Integral Input-Output. The central function of this device is to run control logic, which is also known as application code. One key feature of this module is that it can communicate with external input-output packets through a simplex IONet function due to its integral I/O capabilities. Please note that while this controller is accessible to all, it should only be used in commercial designs and not in any type of residential environment.
This model is the first of the UCPA models. As the first, the IS420UCPAH1A model is equipped with a BPPCH2A processor board as well as a base IS400STWCH1A I/O board. With these features, the controller will provide the following inputs and outputs, two analog inputs (AIs), four digital inputs/outputs with feedback (DIOs), and two hall effect pulse inputs. Depending on the I/O point used they can be configured on a per-point basis.
There are LEDs on the IS420UCPAH1A that are provided by the BPPC processor board. The DIO1 to DIO8 LEDs will be yellow to indicate that the discrete IOs are on and active at a low function; the PULSE1 and PULSE2 LEDs will also be yellow to indicate that the pulse input is on and active at a low function. There is also an attention LED, labeled ATTN, which is a red and green bi-color LED; when green the function is providing synchronization, and when red attention is being provided.
The IS420UCPAH1A controller requires a specific firmware to operate properly and at its best, the firmware needed to obtain this is Mark VIe V05.04.03C. All information needed to operate this controller can be found in the GEI-100719 Mark VIe UCPA Controller Instruction Guide.
