The 6KGP43005X9XXXA1 unit is a GE AF-650 general purpose drive.  It is one of several of these units maintained within our company’s warehouse stock. GE General purpose drives like this one are ideally suited for controlling material handling applications.  The units have a mechanically stable aluminum base suited for harsh environments.

 The 6KGP43005X9XXXA1 is a 400 V, 3-phase unit with a 50/60 Hz input.   This drive comes within an IP20 enclosure and is a #12 unit size. The unit does not have a braking chopper or a conformal coating.  

The 6KGP43005X9XXXA1 offers STO (Safe Torque Off), or safe stop functionality.  This feature is activated through the removal of voltage at Terminal #37 of the safe inverter and connection instead to an external safety device.   Safe stop can be used for either synchronous or asynchronous motors.  STO will shut the motor power down instantaneously.  This is much like a drive inhibit function, but since STO creates a physical disconnect between devices, it impedes the motor on a hardware level. 

The 6KGP43005X9XXXA1 can be used with equal success for either light-duty or heavy-duty applications.  The unit comes with standard features like a keypad, built-in Modbus communications, a process PID controller, and a built-in logic controller.
