The 6KGP43020X9XBCA1 is a 400 volt, 3-phase unit requiring a 50/60 Hz input.  The drive is equally adept at handling heavy-duty or light-duty applications.   This unit is built within an IP20 enclosure suitable for indoor use and includes a braking chopper.  The braking chopper, or braking unit, will help control voltage if load feeds back into the intermediate circuit. 

The 6KGP43020X9XBCA1, like other GE GP drives, is easy to install and set up.  The unit’s keypad info key will provide users with full-text programming information.   Standard communication is through Modbus RTU.  However, optional add-ons allow for communication through DeviceNet, Ethernet IP, Profibus, Profinet, and Modbus TCP/IP. 

The 6KGP43020X9XBCA1 also offers STO, or safe torque off, as a standard part of the unit.  This functionality must be set and activated, however, through the removal of voltage at the #37 terminal of the safe inverter.   Safe torque off/safe stop is compatible with both asynchronous and synchronous motors.   Like a drive inhibit function, STO will immediately shut motor power down.  However, safe torque off impedes the motor at a hardware level since it creates physical disconnect between the devices.  Refer to General Electric manuals for additional information and additional details about this and other features.
