The 6KXC143F50X9A1 has an IP20 style chassis. There is an add-on kit that the user can purchase that can turn the chassis into a NEMA 1 rated enclosure. The kit can be mounted onto the IP20 chassis to provide it with UL type 1 protection. This chassis has air vents on it that help to keep the internal circuitry cool. On the back of the chassis are mounting brackets that have four factory-drilled holes.
The unit has a faceplate that has a very simple keypad on it. It has an LED display. There is a total of six keys and a dial. The keys are labeled prg/reset, func/data, run, stop, and two arrow keys. The dial is not labeled alpha-numerically. There is a panel that can be removed from the faceplate that can give the user access to the I/O terminal strips. There is a control terminal, main terminal, Input terminals, and a terminal where the user can attach a 3-phase motor output.
