About the IC300OSW232
The IC300OSW232 is a 9-Pin Programming Cable for the GE IC300 OCS. This cable was originally provided by the OEM as part of a kit that included the Cscape programming software. The IC300OSW232 is a 9-pin RS-232 cable that connects directly to a PC. It can be used as a replacement cable for your original GE IC300 series operator control station. It has the ability to act as the main programming/debugging cable for your control station. It can also act as a serial connection that can connect to a modem or a PC.
The original Cscape software provided by the OEM was meant to be a single application that can program the entirety of a GE IC300 series control station. This software was specifically compatible with Windows 95, 98, and NT PCs. In order to use this software, the PC it was being installed on needed to meet certain system requirements. It needed to have 10MB of free hard drive space and a minimum of 8MB of RAM. It needed a 600x800, 256 color video display monitor and a free serial port. Additional hard drive space was also needed to store any programs that are written. This software made it possible for the programmer to not need to make a physical connection directly to a device in order to program in to do functions.
