The IC620ACC004 EPROM package was designed to be used in conjunction with the IC620ACC001 EPROM programmer. The EPROM programmer is used to transfer data from the Micro PLC or similar device to an EPROM. The IC620ACC004 EPROM package comes with a total of four blank EPROMs, all of which are UV erasable. The EPROMs are optional components that are used to store programs in applications where the PLC is powered down for extended periods of time. The EPROMs, in addition to storing programs, also give the Micro PLC an added program security measure for extra protection and an easy way to receive and use the logic programs by the OEM. It is especially recommended that you use EPROMs with your Micro PLC if it is an older model.
At the beginning of the installation process for an EPROM, you will need to ensure that the power to the Micro PLC is turned completely off. Open the door on the right side of the CPU and gently open up the RAM memory chip using either an EPROM extraction tool or a small screwdriver. If needed, be sure to bend the pins on the EPROM so that they line up with the socket’s holes. You may then insert the EPROM into the socket and close the CPU unit’s door.
