The IC620MSC001 is a Starter Kit #1 for the GE Fanuc Micro PLC system. The IC620MSC001 includes a CPU unit, an IC620HHP001 hand-held programmer, a CBL001 programming cable, and an IC641SWP020 3” programming diskette with user manuals.
The CPU unit has either 14, 16, or 28 I/O points. There are LED indicators that will glow when connections are made to their inputs and outputs. There is a run/stop switch that is labeled PGM and Run. There is a connection point to the hand-held programmer ( HHP). It has a ribbon connection port that can connect to an expander unit that is sold separately. There is also an RS-232 port with a telephone-style connector that is typically reserved for connections to a programming or monitoring unit. This unit can be plugged directly into a PC for programming as well as the hand-held programmer.
The hand-held programmer can be used for either online control the PLC or offline for program development. It has the ability to perform I/O overrides, PLC mode changes, monitoring I/O and registers, and creating statement list programming. The programming cable can be connected to a PC or directly to the CPU unit. The programmer is compatible with any of the CPU units for the Micro PLC system. The programmer is made up of several components. There is a communications port on its top edge. There is an LCD display, power and error LEDs, a DC 6V adapter jack, and a 39-key keypad. It is 178 mm tall, 92 mm wide, 50 mm thick, and roughly 320 grams. It has a 16 K word RAM CMOS memory with an Intel 8031AH processor.
