About the IC800ABK002
GE Fanuc IC800ABK002 Built-In Battery Kit for Alpha i Servo Amplifiers Modules (SVM)
The IC800ABK002 is a battery kit containing a built-in replacement battery cover and a Lithium-Ion battery package.
Both parts are used by the GE Fanuc Servo amplifiers Modules (SVM). This module is a component of the GE Fanuc Computer Numerical Control (CNC) system Alpha i series.
The battery kit contains a Battery Cover, part number (P/N) A06B-6114-K505 and a replacement lithium-Ion battery package, P/N A06B-6114-K504. Four individual 1.5 Volts 1200 mAh BR-2/3A Polycarbon monofluoride lithium form a battery package with a combined total capacity of 6 Volts and 2900 mAh of total charge.
The battery package works as a backup energy supply to the single-axis SVM1 Alpha i Servo amplifier modules. The battery power supply maintains the data of the absolute pulse coder when the system is disconnected from the electric energy supply lines. More than one SVM module can be served by one battery.
The built-in battery package located in front of the Servo Amplifier Module (SVM) is behind a plastic battery cover. Typically, this plastic cover is identified with a decal and connected to the CXA2A terminal.
An absolute Pulsecoder Alarm will appear if the battery has to be replaced. It will be necessary to make a cero point return when the battery voltage is 0 V.
Replacing the battery requires the user to remove the battery cover. Then detach the battery connector from the CXA2A terminal. Following this step, install the replacement battery in the SVM. Care must be taken if the battery in the SVM is at the side from which the connector is attached because the cable may be stretched tight. The battery cable must not be extended tight. Install again the battery and the cover. Attach the battery connector to the CXA2A terminal of the SVM. Care must be taken when handling the connector. If an excessive strain is applied to the connector it could generate a poor contact resulting in the loss of the data due to an inoperative backup battery. If the misalignment in the connector is greater than 5°, arrange again the cable to reduce the pulling in the connection.
